To bring a research focus to important public policy areas in Ontario, eight Chairs were selected as part of the $25 million Ontario Research Chairs in Public Policy program, funded by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities (MTCU). After a selection process administered by COU, the following scholars are now in place at Ontario’s universities:
This group came together for a Public Policy Symposium in October 2009, to discuss their work under the broad themes of health, education and economic prosperity and to explore implications for the future of public policy in the province. Another Symposium was hosted by York University on COU’s behalf on March 5 and 6, 2012, which centred on the theme of knowledge translation and addressed ways to strengthen the links between research, policy making and practice to advance the public interest.
