Table 3. Capital Investments in Campus Renewal
On January 29, 2008 the Ontario government announced that it is investing $200 million in campus renewal projects at all of Ontario’s publicly funded colleges and universities (universities will receive $135 million). Part of the $1.4 billion infrastructure fund announced in the Fall Economic Statement, the Campus Renewal program funding will go towards: (1) - Energy efficiency, (2) - campus safety and security initiatives, and (3) - Renewal of existing infrastructure. Funding is allocated based on established assessments of each institution’s needs.
In the Ontario 2008 budget the Province also announced 200 million for University Campus Renewal. The table provides the breakdown of capital funding for campus renewal.
