COU Annual Report 2011-12

Published: July 31, 2013

In 2011-2012, Ontario’s universities have continued their efforts to advance student success, research and collaboration. University career counseling and job preparation services are helping students find jobs, a new online institute was launched to enhance the digital learning experience, universities are partnering with other postsecondary institutions to ease the process of credit transfer, and a new public outreach initiative, Research Matters, is teaching Ontarians about the ways university research affects their everyday life. The annual report captures these efforts, along with others including important health research, international outreach and partnerships, greener campuses and improved accessibility, and new beneficial policy goals for the sector.

Ontarians have a great deal to feel proud of in terms of their return on investment in our universities. Our universities are well positioned to do their part to help our young people succeed and to make Ontario stronger than ever. — Alastair Summerlee Chair of the Council of Ontario Universities and President of the University of Guelph
