The 2013-14 Annual Report showcases exciting initiatives at Ontario universities that support student success while also enhancing regional and international communities. The annual report also captures the diverse research efforts of universities across the province, award winning scholarship, advancement of accessible campuses and efforts to create safer, healthier communities. It includes COU’s financial reports.

Ontario’s universities are playing a critical role in the social, cultural and economic success of our province, and indeed our country. The past year saw countless numbers of students launching their own businesses, researchers providing solutions to pressing societal problems, and a myriad of university-community partnerships strengthening the student experience. — Bonnie M.   1. Universities are taking initiative to ensure the newest research and latest advances in teaching and learning make their way into the classroom.

  2. The estimated annual economic impact of a very large university is more than $5 billion. For a comprehensive university the impact is estimated at $2.5 billion, and for a small university it is $150 million.
