COU President and CEO Bonnie M. Patterson reflects on what she has learned in her more than 40 years in postsecondary education at a fireside chat with Ryerson University President Sheldon Levy at the Economic Club of Canada.

Patterson looked at the many contributions of universities to prosperity – from the local level to the national level and beyond – and how universities, businesses and government can work better together to maximize the return on investment of Canada’s highly skilled workforce.

It is my belief that universities need to be recognized as the entrepreneurial enterprises they truly can be, and as integral to our wealth creation ecosystem as business itself. — Bonnie M. Patterson COU President and CEO
