Toronto, October 26, 2010—
The Ontario Council of University Libraries (OCUL) is proud to announce that our Scholars Portal Journals platform has loaded its 20 millionth Ejournal article.
This achievement acknowledges the importance OCUL places on preserving and providing access to high-quality academic resources for Ontario universities says council chair Leslie Weir, University Librarian, Ottawa University: "Reaching the milestone of 20 million articles not only demonstrates the seriousness of the commitment of the OCUL libraries to preserve digital scholarship for generations to come; it also provides the current generation of researchers and students with single-search access to one of the largest and best collections of scholarly articles available from any source, commercial or otherwise.”
Scholars Portal Journals provides students, faculty and researchers at Ontario’s universities easy access to articles on a wide range of academic subjects through a bilingual search interface. A newly released Ejournals Mobile application makes this wealth of academic resources accessible anytime, anyplace, via mobile phone or PDA.
